The Michigan Polo Alliance was formed in the summer of 2026 as a result of the need for the individual clubs to come together as one optimized organization dedicated to strengthening and growing our sport. While each club has its own unique identity and traditions, there was tremendous opportunity to achieve more by working together.

The mission of the alliance is to unite Michigan's polo clubs and players under one shared passion. We are dedicated to advancing the sport through collaborative tournaments, shared resources, and a unified commitment to equine welfare and sportsmanship.

The starting era of polo in Michigan was a foundational and dynamic time, defined by grassroots organizing, nomadic beginnings, and the eventual establishment of permanent homes for the sport. Teams from across the state regularly competed against each other and travel to some of the largest competitions in the country, including the US Open previously held in the Midwest. With the beauty of the great lakes, state parks, and endless outdoor activities there is no shortage of family fun in addition to playing polo! We want to make Michigan the premier destination for accessible, community-driven polo in the Midwest, where anyone with a passion for horses can find a home on the field.
